Blues and Gunners show the way in Champions League
by The Rumor Monger
Following disappointing draws for Man United and Spurs on Tuesday night, Chelsea and Arsenal showed how it was done with emphatic wins over Vilina and Braga respectively. The Blues rested many of their stars names for their opening tie in Slovakia, but still ran out convincing winners. A brace from Nicolas Anelka, sandwiched between goals by Essien and Sturridge saw them to a convincing 4-1 win. Arsenal's victory was even more emphatic, as they routed a hapless Braga side, 6-0 at the Emirates. The win was the biggest for an opening group stage match in Champions League history.
