Draws for City & 'Pool in Europe

Manchester City held on to top spot in Europa League Group A after a battling 1-1 draw with Juventus.

The Italian club took the lead in the 10th minute through Vincenzo Iaquninta before a 37th minute strike from Adam Johnson drew City level.

City had to survive a late Juve onslaught, with a Alessandro Del Piero effort coming back off the bar, but held on for a point.

Meanwhile, Liverpool's season of woe continued, as they were held 0-0 by Dutch minnows Utrecht.

Roy Hodgson fielded a strong side, but the Reds again delivered a performance lacking spark, with Fernando Torres particularly flat.

Indeed, Liverpool were lucky to escape with a point as Mulenga could have snatched victory at the death, but fired wide with only Reina to beat.
