Giggs' United career 'over' if he accepts Welsh job
by The Rumor Monger
The Welsh FA want Ryan Giggs to take over as manager once John Toshack leaves the post. An FAW insider said, "Ryan has always been seen as the long-term replacement. He would certainly galvanise the players. He could be offered a deal where he can carry on playing." However Eric Harrison, Giggs' former youth team coach at Manchester United, has warned that if he takes the job it would spell the end of his United career. Mark Hughes had a similar arrangement while he was still a player at Blackburn, but Harrison believes it would be impossible for Giggs to do the same. 'It is not a cushy little number and it is not a part-time post,' he said. 'You are at the sharp end of things and these days I don't believe you could combine playing for a club at United's level and managing an international team.' |
