Injured Tevez to miss Manchester Derby

Manchester City captain Carlos Tevez has flown out to Argentina, as he recovers from an injury that is likely to sideline him for the Manchester derby.

The player suffered a dead leg in the defeat to Arsenal on Sunday but was initially expected to be fit for Saturday's Premier League match at Wolves.

However, tests yesterday revealed severe swelling and internal bleeding around the knee and thigh.

This means that Tevez will be out for about two weeks, a timeline that includes the crunch clash against his former club Manchester United on November 10.

Man City boss Roberto Mancini has sent the player home to spend three or four days with his family before returning to City for intensive treatment.
