Madjeski Stadium![]() ![]()
The Madjeski Stadium is home to Reading Football Club who moved there in August 1998 from Elm Park, their home for the previous 102 years. It is an all-seater bowl with a capacity of 24,250 built on the site of a former landfill, which the Reading Borough Council sold to the club for the nominal amount of 1 pound. The stadium was built at a cost of 50 million pounds and is named after Reading's chairman, John Madjeski. In 2006, following promotion to the Premier League, the club announced plans to extend the ground to between 37,000 to 38,000 seats. However, their subsequent relegation at the end of the 2007/08 season makes it unlikely that this will happen in the forseeable future. More Reading FC stuff here;
