Mancini Not as Tough as Fergie

by The Rumor Monger

Man City boss Roberto Mancini has said that talk of him being 'too tough on his players' is far off the mark.

When an interviewer suggested he should be more of a 'father figure' to his squad, like Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United, the City manager just smiled and pointed to his eyebrow.

'I don't know, but I remember when David Beckham had his problem...' Every manager has his own behaviour but I think that I have a good relationship with my players.'

He was of course referring to the infamous incident after Man United's FA Cup defeat to Arsenal in 2003. A boot, kicked by Ferguson, struck Beckham in the face, and the player needed stitches to a cut above the eye.
