Oakwell is a multi-purpose sports development in Barnsley, South Yorkshire which is home to Barnsley Football Club.

Up until 2003 the stadium and the land that surrounds it was owned by the football club themselves, but after falling into administration in 2002 the club was forced to sell the main stadium in order to pay its creditors.

The stadium has four main stands, the West Stand, East Stand, North Stand and the Enterprise PLC Stand.

There is also the 'Corner Stand', an unusual three level structure which provides executive areas and disabled facilities.

The West Stand has a capacity of 2, 752, split over two tiers. It is the only part of the original ground left standing, although it was made all-seater in 1995.

The East stand, completed in 1993, is a two tier stand with a capacity of 7,492. It also has several executive boxes.

Tne North Stand is the most recent addition to the stadium and is a singled tiered seating area with a capacity for 6,000 spectators. It is generally reserved for away supporters.

Built in 1995, The Enterprise Stand is a covered single tier seating area behind the goal on the south side. It is the current name for what is traditionally known as the 'Pontefract Road End' or 'Ponty End'.

This part of the stadium also houses the players gym, the club store, box office, and administration offices.
