Premier League 60-second Wrap

Let's start with the champions, who were back to winning ways after their surprise defeat to Liverpool at the weekend. A Michael Essien goal on the half hour was enough to claim all three points against Fulham.

Essien was later sent off for a two-footed tackle on Clint Dempsey.

The Manchester derby failed to live up to expectations as City and United played out a dull scoreless draw, both sides later accusing the other of 'parking the bus'.

Marouane Chamakh scored twice to give Arsenal a 2-0 win at Wolves. The match was also notable for a horror tackle by Cesc Fabregas on Steven Ward, although the Spaniard somehow avoided a red card.

Liverpool's recent winning run came to a grinding halt at Wigan, as the hosts came from a goal down to draw 1-1.

Fernando Torres showed that he is back to his best with an excellently taken opener on 7 minutes. However, Wigan responded strongly and Hugo Rodallega got a deserved equalizer early in the second half.

At St James' Park, Newcastle were brought crashing back to earth following their weekend triumph over Arsenal. Visitors Blackburn clinched a 2-1 victory, with goals by Jason Roberts and Morten Gamst Pedersen.

James Collins scored an 89th minute winner as Aston Villa edged Blackpool 3-2 at Villa Park.

Villa took the lead through Stewart Downing on 28 minutes, but Marlon Harewood equalized just before half-time.

Nathan Delfouneso got the Villains back in front, but Blackpool again struck back, this time through DJ Campbell. The Seasiders looked to have earned a point, before that rare Collins strike a minute from time.

West Ham remain rock bottom after again letting a second-half lead slip.

Having fought back from a 38 minute West Brom penalty, the Hammers went in front through Scott Parker and Frederic Piquionne.

However, West Brom levelled on 71 minutes through Pablo Ibanez to earn a draw.

At Goodison, Bolton went ahead 11 minutes from time through Ivan Klasnic. Jermaine Beckford's last minute goal salvaged a 1-1 draw for Everton.
