In 1910 they moved to their new home at Gay Meadow. This which would be their home ground for the next 97 years.

Elected to Division Three

In 1950, with the expansion of the two regional Third Divisions, the Shrews were elected to Division Three (North) before transferring to Division Three (South) at the end of the season.

They remained until 1958 when they were placed in Division Four after the regional divisions were scrapped.

Promoted at the end of their first season in the lowest division, Shrewsbury remained in the Third Division until 1979 apart from one season in the Fourth Division (1974-75).

Division Three Champions

They survived at this level for ten years, but relegation in 1989 and again in 1992 saw them back in the Fourth Division.

In 1994, Shrewsbury won the championship and promotion to Division Two but in 1997 they were relegated to Division Three.

Relegation to the Conference

Shrewsbury finished at the bottom of the League in 2003 and were relegated to the Conference.

The following season, they finished third in the Conference and, after a penalty shoot-out in the play-off final, returned to the Football League.

Move to New Meadow

In 2007, the club moved to the 10, 000 capacity New Meadow stadium.

They qualified for the play-offs in 2009 and again in 2011, but failed to win promotion on both occasions.
