Valley Parade![]() ![]()
Valley Parade is a 25,136 capacity all-seater stadium in Bradford, West Yorkshire. It was built in 1886, and was the home of Manningham Rugby Football Club until 1903, when they changed code from rugby to association football and became Bradford City. It has been Bradford City's home ever since. The ground was extensively re-developed in 1908 after the club's promotion to the First Division, but thereafter there were few changes until 1985, when it was the scene of a fatal fire. On 11 May 1985, during a league match against Lincoln City the wooden main stand caught fire killing 56 supporters and injuring at least 265 more. Following an inquiry into the fire the ground was closed for 19 months while it underwent a 2.6 million pound redevelopment to bring it in line with safety regulations. It was re-opened in December 1986. The ground has undergone significant changes in the 1990s and early 2000s to bring it to its current capacity. More Bradford City stuff here;
