Tottenham Hotspur moved to White Hart Lane in 1899, and played the first game there, a 4-1 home win over Notts County, in front of just 5,000 supporters.
By 1923, the capacity had risen to 50,000 and despite Tottenham's relative mediocrity, the stadium was regularly sold out.
As the teams fortunes improved on the pitch there were steady improvements to the ground.
The West Stand was built in the early 1980's and the East Stand, built in the 1930's was renovated in the early 90's, which also saw the completion of the South Stand
The renovation of the North Stand was completed in 1998, bringing the ground to its current configuration.
Talks continue over the future of Tottenham's home ground, with proposals to increase the capacity to between 50,000 and 60,000 mooted, as well as the possibility of moving to a new ground.
