The Worst Football Kits EverWhat were they thinking! The worst football kits ever.
Arsenal Away 1991 Known to the Arsenal fans as the "rotten banana" kit this is arguably the worst kit ever worn by the Gunners. Birmingham City 1992 An odd kit with multi-coloured paint splashes and the colours of the indian flag on the socks. Carlisle United 1993 The 90's were a bad era for fashion in general and football kits were no different, as this truly awful kit shows. Chelsea Away 1994 Maybe this orange and grey number was meant to welcome Ruud Gullit to the club, if so it's a wonder he signed. Coventry Away 1975 Brown does not work for a football kit. Here's the proof. Crewe Alexandra 1993 Difficult to describe this one. Simply horrible. Derby Away 1989 Looks like Liverpool's socks and shorts with Newcastle's early 90's 'bar-code' shirt. Huddersfield Town Away 1991 What on earth were they thinking! Hull City 1992 Leading contender for the worst football kit ever. If I'd played for Hull during this era I'd have put in a transfer request. Leyton Orient 1998 This checkered kit seems more suited to Formula One than football. Newcastle United Away 1997 If you thought the 2009 'custard cream' away shirt was their worst ever - think again. Newport County 1971 The players refused to wear these beach wear inspred shorts after a couple of games. Norwich City 1992 City fans call it the 'bird-poo' kit and you can see why. Notts County 1993 A bar-code inspired disaster. Reading Away 1991 Looks like a badly tuned television. Headache inducing stuff. Shrewsbury Town 1992 A design more suited to a shower curtain than a football kit. Stockport County 1993 Badly tuned television part two. Swansea City 1993 I'm confused. What are those slashes across to shoulder meant to be. West Bromwich Albion 1992 Hard to believe that some-one at West Brom actually approved this design. Wigan Athletic 1993 There's a lot going on with this kit - none of it good.
