Worst Premier League Teams

Worst Premier League teams: The 10 worst top-flight teams of the Premier League era.

No.10: Watford (2006/2007)

Having been promoted in third place Watford were expected to struggle, and so it proved. A season-long injury to Marlon King and the sale of Ashley Young to Aston Villa didn't help as the Hornets managed just 5 wins in 38 games.

No.9: Swindon Town (1993/1994)

After being denied promotion in 1990 due to financial irregularities Swindon finally made it to the Premier League in 1993. They needn't have bothered - just 5 wins and a record 100 goals conceded saw them make a quick exit. And, but for the goals of Jan-Aage Fjortoft, it could have been much worse.

No.8: Leicester City (1994/1995)

It took Leicester three consecutive play-off finals to finally win promotion to the Premier League, but their stay was short-lived. Managed to avoid bottom spot but finished 19 points from safety.

No.6: West Bromwich Albion (2002/2003)

Promoted the previous season, West Brom made a swift return to Division One . Amazingly, they didn't finish bottom despite a paltry return of 26 points. That honour belonged to Sunderland.

Who would have thought that the all time low of 15 points would ever be 'bettered'? The Rams top the list as the worst Premier League team in history after this season of disaster saw them win just one game and battle to reach double figures in terms of points. Their negative goal difference of 69 also set a new mark.
