You're all just jealous, says City's Milner

There was a time when Manchester City was everyone's second favourite team. Not any more.

The underachieving Manchester club have been transformed in recent times by the massive investment of the Abu Dhabi Group, and now have the look of genuine title contenders.

This has turned fans around the country into ABCs – Anyone But City.

But new signing James Milner has revealed that the jealousy of rival fans doesn't bother the players in the least.

Milner said, 'I would have thought there is more jealousy than people wishing us well at the moment, because of the money and opportunities we have because of the owner.'

'But to be honest it doesn't affect us. We are here to win trophies and that is our focus. 'If we point to silverware at the end of the season, it won't matter if it makes non-City fans happy or not. We know we will have done our jobs.'

But City's Premier League form will have to improve after they picked up just one point, from a possible six, in their last two games.
