Zamora commits to Fulham
by The Rumor Monger
Bobby Zamora has committed his future to Fulham by signing a new four-year deal at Craven Cottage. The striker, whose current deal was due to expire at the end of the season, attracted attention from Birmingham City and Liverpool during the transfer window. But Fulham will be delighted that they have managed to hold onto their prized asset. It caps a remarkable turnaround for a player who not too long ago was being booed by the club's own fans. Fulham manager Mark Hughes said: 'We're delighted that Bobby has signed. It was important to tie him down to a new contract. 'Bobby's a focal point of what we're trying to do here and is an important figure in the team and dressing room. 'This new contract is just reward for his efforts in recent times. He's playing exceptionally well at the moment. 'I've been very impressed in the short time I've worked with him. I quickly came to understand the quality he has.' |
